Hope Chest Thrift Store opened its doors to the Turlock community Thursday, and with it brings an opportunity for shoppers to find affordable deals while giving back to a great cause.
Hope Chest is owned by Community Hospice, a nonprofit, community-based agency that provides hospice services regardless of patients’ ability to pay. At over 37 years old, Community Hospice is the oldest and largest nonprofit in the Central Valley, serving five different counties from Merced to Galt. The organization assists patients and families from the comfort of their own home, or patients may stay in their 16-bed inpatient hospice facility, located in Hughson.
In 1993, the first Hope Chest was opened in Modesto. Today, with the addition of the Turlock location, there are seven shops throughout the Valley. According to Community Hospice Director of Public Relations Kristin Mostowski, Turlock has been a desirable location for the newest location for quite some time.
