    • Good afternoon, thank you for reaching out. Many of our stores remain closed until further notice. Our North McHenry store has reopened to provide community members another source for essential items such as toilet paper, food and other supplies. The store also provides residents the opportunity to donate items. Additional practices have been put in place to ensure the health and safety of our community members.

      • My mom recently passed away; and I have a box full of medical supplies; i was referred by nurcing center that you take unopened items. Is this true? Please advice. What a great source for seniors to depened on items they can’t wait for…. thank you for all you do!

        • Hi Isabel, thank you for thinking of us. We are sorry for your loss, please know we are here to support you if you need to speak to someone. Can you provide me additional information as to what type of supplies you are wanting to donate. Depending on what they are we may be able to accept them at our Hope Chest Thrift Store.

          Kindest regards.

  1. This is great news! I’m wondering if there are any limitations set in place for donating furniture at this time (besides normal regulations of new/gently used)? Thank you.

    • Good afternoon, at this time we are accepting all donations at our North McHenry Store location Tuesday-Saturday from 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. We accept pretty much everything other than mattresses.

  2. Hello –
My mother-in-law, who lives in Modesto, is moving and would like to donate. She is elderly with diabetes/cancer survivor so she needs to be super careful. Hospice is such a wonderful organization and she would like to support you via donation.
    (1) What are the procedures for her to drop things off?
    (2) What are the procedures for a pick up (in case she has furniture)?
    Thank you

  3. Why are all Hope Chest’s in the Central Valley opening May 11, 2020? Are you aware of the stay at home order and the Criteria for nonessential businesses? How will you protect your employees and customers from receiving donations and merchandise that have not been sanitized since the merchandise is used. I know you guys accept ceramics such as dishes pottery and mugs in which the virus lives on for 5 days (webmd). This business is non-essential and should not be opened.
